Kevin Sinfield
Documentary
Challenge
Asked by the Leeds Rhinos and England Rugby legend to create a fly-on-the-wall documentary following his Ultra 7in7in7 Challenge, which he was completing in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association plus a number of other charities working to fight MND on behalf of his good friend and ex-teammate Rob Burrow who was battling the disease. As well as showing the best moment of the challenge from inside the camp, it would also help raise awareness of MND and the need to find a cure through a number of sit-down interviews with other patients, doctors, experts and the friends and family of Burrow.
Outcome
In order to follow Sinfield throughout the challenge, RAM were able to obtain the necessary kit to record him remotely whilst also filming from a support vehicle travelling alongside the full team of runners and cyclists. This involves meticulously planning of routes and times and in depth risk assessments, all completed in full and provided to local authorities and the logistics team on the challenge ahead of filming. The 90-minute-long feature film provides never-before-seen footage from throughout the challenge- ranging from amusing anecdotes to important teachings- and was able to be premiered in front of more than 300 friends, family and supporters at the Everyman Cinema in Leeds; this event which was fully planned, ticketed and staffed by RAM to raise further funds for Motor Neurone Disease charities and was covered by local and national media.
